SO IMPORTANT……. While you go thru the “thought process” regarding playing sports in college and the whole recruiting journey, YOU really need to slow down and think about the COLLEGE you want to be attending!   Many student-athletes say “Whoever will give me the scholarship!”, but you MUST spend some time thinking about the school itself!

Don’t get caught up in all of the hoopla of getting a sports scholarship!   Once the “new” wears off and you have settled into the school routine, things can become a bit clearer to you, some for the good, but some can be not so good…..  You don’t want to realize that it’s “not a good fit” and have to leave school….  Sit down with your parents, plan out some campus visits NOT JUST TO SEE THE WORKOUT FACILITIES OR COACHES OFFICES, but to check out the whole campus, living conditions, the town around the campus, etc.   Remember, it will be your “home away from home”, so make sure you will LIKE IT!  DO NOT get pushed into taking a scholarship by an over-zealous coach or by a paid recruiter/scout!   YOU are not a statistic, so make it count!
