Biography

Biography:

Dasha Macmillan commits to the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs. She was born on January 13th, 2002, in Arlington, Texas. She was introduced to the game of basketball while in the sixth grade at the Higher Goals Basketball Academy by coach Wayne Watts who she still plays AUU club basketball for today. Dasha now attends Grapevine High School as a junior, where the basketball coach is Greg Gay. At Grapevine, she helped lead her team to a 36-6 district record during the 2019 season. While at Grapevine, Dasha became one of the few high school girl’s players to ever score 34+ points during a regular season game. Dasha also lead the district in 2019 for most points scored during a season.

Dasha is a two-time recipient of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram’s Player of the Week Award, 2018 and 2019 and is listed as a 2020 top-10 player to watch. She was named to the TABC All-Region first team in 2018 and 2019 and was recognized by the Dallas Morning News Sports Day as a top-10 North Texas player with points per game. She is active in community volunteering for the Special Olympics and as an assistant teacher at the Fort Worth Zoo helping students with the understanding of animals, science and conservation. Dasha is also a member of the Junior National Honors Society, Grapevine High School Leadership Program and a Student Council member. At Grapevine Dasha is a scholar-athlete with a 4.65 adjusted GPA. When graduated, Dasha plans to study biology at the Air Force Academy.

Grapevine guard, players of the week BY BRIAN GOSSET bgosset@star-telegram.com Over 17,000 votes were made for girls with Grapevine sophomore guard Dasha Macmillan taking home the honor (6,635). She scored 32 points in a District 8-5A win over FW Carter-Riverside. Macmillan edged out Colleyville Covenant junior post Macie Lynch (5,598), who recorded 22 points, 13 rebounds and 4 blocks against Temple Christian.
